Meet the Team!
2025/26
Hello! Welcome to ESLJ. We're this year's team and we're so excited to boost our publication's brand as we continue to to join like-minded Literature lovers!

Editor-in-Chief
Rachel Jones
Rachel Jones is a fourth-year English Literature student at the University of Edinburgh. While she has a broad interest in varying genres, her greatest passion (or obsession) is anything related to Jane Austen.

Editor-in-Chief
Hannah Williamson
Hannah Williamson is a fourth-year English Language and Literature student at the University of Edinburgh. Born in England but raised in California, she has grown particularly fond of 20th century American literature, though she is eager to discover even more of her literary interests during her degree.

Deputy Editor
Ellie Valentine
Ellie Valentine is a fourth-year English Literature student from London. While her love for literature spans various genres, her particular interest centres around modernist and postmodernist writing, as well as novels with a focus on social injustice exposition. That being said, a guilty pleasure of hers is to sit by the fire with a whodunnit and a pint...

Publications Manager
Zoë Nayani
Zoë Nayani is a fourth-year English Literature student from south-east England. While her literary obsessions vary weekly, her current focus lies in exploring how contemporary feminist novels interact with the absurd and the grotesque. Among her favorite writers are Anna Kavan, Clarice Lispector, and the ever-problematic Haruki Murakami

Communications Manager
Alfie Goodwin
Alfie is a second-year English Literature and History student from West Yorkshire. His interests mainly revolve around postwar British poetry and modern British history. That said, he also has a soft spot for French poetry---particularly that of the infamous poètes maudits.

Senior Editor
Alexandra Kogan
Alexandra Kogan is a second-year History of Art student at the University of Edinburgh. Her lifelong passion for literature now centres particularly around modernism, social realism, and absurdism. Secretly, she’s also a huge fan of murder mystery and crime novels.
