Meet the Team!
2026/27
Hello! Welcome to ESLJ. We're this year's team and we're so excited to boost our publication's brand as we continue to to join like-minded Literature lovers!

Editor-in-Chief
Alfie Goodwin
Alfie is a third-year studying English Literature and History. His main interests revolve around postwar British history and poetry, but he also has a soft spot for the infamous French poetès maudits!

Editor-in-Chief
Daniel Ghazi
Daniel is a second-year English Literature student who loves Kate Chopin’s short stories, the Harlem Renaissance, and anything written by Virginia Woolf. He is interested in exploring more Arabic-language literature, having enjoyed reading Samira Azzam and Nizar Qabbani. He is currently reading a translation of Yasunari Kawabata’s ‘The Old Capital’.

Deputy Editor
Isobel Smith
Isobel is a third-year English Literature student from Bath. Having enjoyed the breadth of all forms of literature throughout the last three years of her degree, she is currently exploring literature written for the stage in her Contemporary British Drama and Early Modern Comedy Honours courses. Her prized possesion is a signed first edition copy of her favourite book, Nawal El Saadawi’s ‘Two Women in One’.

Publications Manager
Sanika Prakash
Sanika Prakash is a third-year student of History of Art and English Literature at the University of Edinburgh, and Publication Manager at the ESLJ. Her literary interests greatly revolve around Western 19th century fiction and contemporary works-in-translation across a variety of genres. With a strong passion for poetry, she particularly likes transcendentalism and realism in literature, as well as the exploration of interpersonal relationships (she's also a sucker for a good mystery and political drama).

Communications Manager
Elliot Thompson
Elliot Thompson is a third-year English Literature and History student at the University of Edinburgh. Their literary interests vary, ranging from the work of beat generation authors such as Kerouac, Burroughs and Ginsberg, to the work of particular prolific female authors such as Audre Lorde and Olga Tokarczuk.
